Wonderful place option for a relaxed day. Very good food with local ingredients on a not very extensive menu. It is not cheap. Unparalleled view of Ocoa Bay from its infinity pool. Even though when we went there were only two people and two small groups that arrived later, they were a little slow in the service, you should call them if you need something, they don't stop by to ask how you are doing.

A vineyatd in the caribbean? Best place ever!
We went to Ocoabay on sunday, we were a group of 7 adults. We arrive early, an hour before the opening. We took advantage of that time to enjoy the view and make a lot of awesome pictures. The vineyard is beautiful, the entrance is a road full of flowers and an awesome view. They received us with a delicious "welcome cocktail", while we were waiting to start our tour, next to the pool. During the tour, we stop in a few spots, one of those was the room with the equipements to processed the grapes; our guide was Albert, he show us how the process is, thedifferents types of grapes, the origin... he also guided us in the winetasting, Albert is a great hostest, with a full knowlege of the vineyard, and marvelous atentions. Sarah was in charge of the charcuterie, with an exquisit artisanal tamarind jam and artisanal cheese, they with all the staff maded our experience extraordinary. After the winetasting we went back to the pool area, we swinmed, we had lunch, the food was delicious, we uncorked a few bottles of that exquisit wine and enjoyed a wonderful day, we left about 6pm. We defetnely recommended the place, so add it to your places to visit list you wont regret.
Thanks OcoaBay for the great experience!

Not abandoned just temporarily closed due to the pandemic. They still produce and sell original Dominican wine.

My wife Ana and I decided for our anniversary that we would tour the south of the country. Our first stop was the Vineyard at Ocoabay. We did an interesting tour at 11 am of the vineyard and winery. Followed by wine tasting, good fun. Then we went to the restaurant and pool for the rest of the day. The set up is a bit different as to have complete pool access you commit to a $2000 peso per person food and drinks bill. We started with a seafood ceviche and a prawn appetizer. Both were fantastic, the freshness of the home grown produce truly shines through.
We had a seafood rissoto, which was the best I have ever had and a fresh fish with white sauce, simply stunning.
Lounging around the infinity pool, drinking unique cocktails, relaxing something we will return to do again. Now we have a new world class place to bring our visitors for something special.
The staff were great, attentive and accomodating. We left with a case of wine and good memories.

My wife, two friends, and their 2 year old daughter (my god daughter) drove from our homes in Santo Domingo to spend a lazy quiet day at Ocoa bay. The place looked gorgeous, amazing, peaceful, and zen like online. Guess what. IT WAS! It was beeeeeautiful! Infinity pool. Great architecture, vineyard, view of the ocean, on and on and on. The rooms online for the hotel looked amazing as well. If the internet didn’t lie about the outside and the restaurant, it probably isn’t lying about the rooms. The place is an architectural and visual gem. Did I mention the view? Oh yeah.
When we arrived at 11:45 am, we were the only 5 there. It was amazing. The staff was pleasant and greeted us. They were patient as we decided where was the best place to sit. As my goddaughter waddled about in her SWIM SUIT (matching her mother’s and to his chagrin, same pattern as her father’s). We finally settled in the shade near the pool bar and promptly learned about the four wines they had. We order a rosé. They had a white and a red as well. But it was hot and we wanted something chilled. We also order two quick apps (ceviche: A+ and a chorizo al vino: A- too saucy but good!). When the bottle of wine came (can’t buy it by the glass) we tried it. Ummmm.... it wasn’t bad. But wine in the Caribbean? What do ya want! Well, what we would have wanted was the Kibay. The very nice bartender brought us a single cup to try and share. It is wine with mango and passion fruit. Needless to say, we are Caribbean now, it was delicious! Super sweet but tasty. We all laughed and said, we will be buying some bottles to take home.
The plan was to relax by the pool, have some drinks, a full lunch, and when my god daughter was tired, me and my buddy wanted to take a tour of the facilities. We had planned on making a 5 hour day of eating and drinking and shopping. We are craft rum distillers and love supporting others. Well, we didn’t get to do so!
After my goddaughter is enjoying time in the water with her dad laughing for a good 20 minutes another family of 6 + a small child showed up. They were talking with a staff member who, after two minutes of conversation, approached David and said that she was not allowed in the pool. Company policy. We were confused and pleaded “cmon! She’s quiet and there is no one here!” She gestured to the family that had a little girl as though they complained. As if they knew the policy and made a big stink out of it. So now we have a SCREAMING 2 year old who was quiet and giggly before. Listen, I am no fan of kids, if she were a distraction I would say so. She wasn’t. I explained that this changes our plans and the nice revenue they would have earned. We could NOT stay. She was confused and screaming. So we explained our sever disappointment and left.
My point: it is a policy or it isn’t. To those that love black and white, go for it. For me the world is dark and light grey. There was no one there. I just feel this situation could have been handled much better. But to let her play for 20 minutes and then snatch it from her citing policy and giving up sales and a great memory seems shortsighted. And for that, we will not return. And I will recommend others do the same. If you do go, I am sure you will have a great time. The place looked great but they ruined our Saturday with this BS.
Have a great day!

Wonderful view of mountains and ocean, sunset was stunning, perfect place for any gathering celebration, food was really good, fast and good value. OcoaBay is a vineyard, restaurant, sort of pool club, is simply stunning and peaceful
Good to go with friends, your family, couples.
Its a little far from the city center but is a different experience worth the ride.
